Events in the Tweed Valley


  • The premier Highland Games in the Scottish Borders takes place in the spectacular surroundings of Hay Lodge Park, Peebles. Events include pipe band competition, traditional heavy events, Highland dancing competition, whisky tasting, haggis hurling (our favourite!), loads of stalls, fairground rides, plus great food and drink.

  • A classic closed road sportive, brought to you by the same team who organise the TweedLove Bike Festival. Starts from Peebles town centre. Choice of two routes lengths to test every level of rider.

  • The 24rd Scottish Borders Walking Festival will this year be hosted and held at Hawyck. Expect a fantastic selection of walks for all abilities.

  • Run from Traquair House near Innerleithen to Broughton – a distance of 18 miles with over 4,900 feet of climb. A classic hill race with ample reward at the end!

  • Tweed Valley Tunnel Trail Run

    The Tweed Valley Tunnel Trail Run takes runners on an autumnal journey along riverside paths, through gorgeous woodland and out into the hills before diving into the Neidpath Tunnel – a 600m disused railway tunnel, complete with lighting effects and sound system specially installed for the event. Suitable for seasoned trail runners or complete beginners, participants can choose between two distances – approximately 10k and 20k, all off-road. Starts and finishes at Hay Lodge Park, Peebles.

  • Tweed Valley Forest Festival

    A lively celebration of woodland culture and ancient Halloween rites in a variety of locations around the Tweed Valley. This year's festival includes a two-day wood market and food festival, the Scottish Conker Championships on Tweed Green in Peebles, plus a host of spooky events and Halloween activities at various locations, including Traquair House and Bowhill Estate. Come join in the fun!

  • Now in its fifth year, and a major event in the Tweed Valley calendar, the Peebles Outdoor Film Festival offers a dazzling mix of adventure films, inspiring speakers and outdoor sessions. From a ‘best of’ selection of adventure films from around the word to big names and local heroes from the worlds of ocean conservation, mountain biking, adventure filmmaking, wildlife photography, bikepacking, climbing, wild swimming and more, there’s so much to enjoy at this year’s festival. Speakers include mountain bike legend Hans Rey, Paddle Against Plastic founder Cal Major, wild swimmer and TV star Calum Maclean, and wildlife photographer and cameraman Pete Cairns from SCOTLAND: The Big Picture.
