  • King and Queen of the Hill

    Now something of a UK enduro classic, the course makes the most of the massive variety of trail riding here, with the sweetest descents on the valley’s finest dirt, roots and rock. This year sees a new venue in Innerleithen as the event base with stages on both the Caberston and Traquair sides of the valley. Expect pro athletes mixing it up with mere mortals in the battle to become the Scottish Open Champion.

  • Over a period of 10 days, this small but incredibly creative Borders town celebrates the work of its many artists, arts groups, musicians, poets, film makers and craftspeople.   • Beyond Borders International Festival of Literature & Thought

    This event brings together internationally renowned broadcasters, writers, thinkers, artists, diplomats and politicians to meet, talk and exchange ideas with the public about some of the most interesting and pressing issues of our time. This stimulating weekend of debate also includes bike rides, literary walks, art exhibitions and performances. During the weekend we also curate a number of private lunches, dinners and tête-à-têtes to facilitate the development of new projects and innovative collaborations. This combination of public and intimate interactions is what makes the Festival unique.

  • The premier Highland Games in the Scottish Borders takes place in the spectacular surroundings of Hay Lodge Park, Peebles. Events include pipe band competition, traditional heavy events, Highland dancing competition, whisky tasting, haggis hurling (our favourite!), loads of stalls, fairground rides, plus great food and drink.
